BFA in Interior Design at the Art Institute of Portland

The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design is a comprehensive program that prepares students to become professional interior designers. Our broad-based education allows students to gain experience in the many different project types that exist in the profession as they investigate the technical and functional requirements of interior design; balanced with creativity and aesthetics. The program cultivates a global understanding of the role of the interior designer. Through coursework, students focus on the issues of sustainability, diversity, client and user needs, and public health, safety and welfare as they relate to residential, corporate, hospitality, educational, and restaurant design.

The Interior Design program has a strong commitment to keep current with industry standards and trends, and to integrate them into the classroom environment. Our comprehensive approach to the curriculum prepares graduates to be lifelong learners and to be adaptable in an exciting and changing profession.
